Our Slogan
The quote, “Justice is Truth in Action” was coined by Joseph Joubert, D.C. (May 7, 1754 – May 4, 1824). Joubert was a Christian, French moralist, essayist, and one of the most profound and original all-time French thinkers. Between 1768 and 1772 he was educated at Toulouse School of Christian Doctrine Fathers, or Doctrinaries (in Latin Congregatio Patrum Doctrinae Christianae). Doctrinaries are a religious institute of male consecrated Catholics. At the end of his studies, Joubert entered the order. He was also justice of the peace in Montignac between 1790 and 1792 and Inspector General of education in 1808.[1]
We adopted Joubert’s quote as our slogan because Jesus told us,
"I am the way, and the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father
except through me.” John 14:6 (ESV)
Indeed: “Of a truth, God will not do wickedly, and the Almighty will not pervert justice.” Job 34:12 (ESV). Thus, the pursuit of justice properly understood requires the recognition that only through the Almighty is justice both honorable and pure. More to the point, no one comes to the Almighty except through Jesus, who is the Truth. John 14:6 (ESV).
Our Mission Statement
We are Christian lawyers striving to:
-
Walk worthy of the vocation wherewith we are called (Ephesians 4:1) for we are created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do (Ephesians 2:8-10);
-
To defend the aggrieved as Jesus defended the woman caught in the act of adultery (John 8:1-11) and as He advocates for us before the Father when we sin (I John 2:1);
-
To act justly, love mercy, and walk humbly with God (Micah 6:8); and,
-
To profess the truth that apart from God we can do nothing (John 15:5).
